  • 500 gbread flour (type 550)
  • 2 tspsalt
  • 1 tspsugar
  • 1 1/2 tspinstant yeast
  • 400 mllukewarm water
  • 2 tbspolive oil

Preparation

  1. Mix the Dough
    In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add lukewarm water and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  2. First Rise
    Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  3. Shape the Loaves
    Gently pour the dough onto a well-floured surface. Divide it into two parts without overworking the dough. Shape each part into a slipper shape, characteristic of Ciabatta.
  4. Second Rise
    Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  5. Bake
    Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Bake the loaves for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom. Let them cool on a wire rack.
