Preparation

5 steps
  1. 01

    Mix the Dough

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add lukewarm water and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

  2. 02

    First Rise

Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  3. 03

    Shape the Loaves

Gently pour the dough onto a well-floured surface. Divide it into two parts without overworking the dough. Shape each part into a slipper shape, characteristic of Ciabatta.

  4. 04

    Second Rise

Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

  5. 05

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Bake the loaves for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom. Let them cool on a wire rack.
